What Is Strategy & Guided Play? Strategy & Guided Play is where Mahjong knowledge becomes Mahjong confidence. Designed for players who understand the basics of the game, this session combines strategic instruction with coached gameplay to help you make stronger decisions at the table. Each class includes focused strategy topics—such as hand selection, Charleston decisions, defensive play, reading the table, and knowing when to pivot—followed by guided play where you’ll apply those concepts in real-time with support and feedback. You’ll learn how to: • Choose stronger hands from your rack • Improve Charleston passing decisions • Recognize flexibility and tile efficiency • Know when to commit and when to pivot • Develop defensive awareness • Build confidence using the NMJL card This is not a lecture and it’s not open play. It’s intentional practice designed to help players think more strategically and become more confident at the table. Perfect for graduates of Mahjong 101 and 102, returning players, and anyone looking to strengthen their game through learning to read the table, evaluating discards and Charleston option, etc. Skill Level: Intermediate
